Start exploring Riverside park by checking out this greatly under-appreciated monument. The monument commemorates Union Army soldiers and sailors who served in the Civil War.

Head south via the riverside and, if you're hungry, stop an get a bite at the boat basin cafe. As you might expect, it has views of the water that can't be beat.

Continue going south along the riverside and you'll see the new developments. If you don't tire out, you'll notice a natural stopping point at 59th street. When you make it here- you should probably turn around or cut back into the city.

Pro Tip: Turn east into the city on 66th and you'll run straight into Lincoln Square.

Get dinner at this hole-in-the-wall, super-authentic japanese place. It's super quiet so make sure you're ready to make conversation the entire time you dine. 

Pro tip: Get the salmon & salmon roe donburi. 

Take a short walk and get a cocktail at one of the only decent spots on the Upper East side. 

If you couldn't get a table, or if you still feel up to hitting another bar, try the Gilroy a couple of blocks down the street. By now you should be good and drunk- so the rest of the night is up to you.
