Start exploring Riverside park by checking out this greatly under-appreciated monument. The monument commemorates Union Army soldiers and sailors who served in the Civil War.

Head south via the riverside and, if you're hungry, stop an get a bite at the boat basin cafe. As you might expect, it has views of the water that can't be beat.

Continue going south along the riverside and you'll see the new developments. If you don't tire out, you'll notice a natural stopping point at 59th street. When you make it here- you should probably turn around or cut back into the city.

Pro Tip: Turn east into the city on 66th and you'll run straight into Lincoln Square.

There's nothing quite like rowing in Central Park. It's a relatively inexpensive experience and one of the more unique ways to see the city. When you finish your boat ride- check out the restaurant for a drink or some snacks.

Walk up to Belvedere Castle. It's beautiful from the outside and provides great views over the aptly named Great Lawn.

On your way back down, wander throught the shakespeare garden. This garden features more unique plant varietals than anywhere else in the park.

If you're still up for it. Go walk up and check out the view of the reservoir before diving back into the urban sprawl of the city.
