A tiny, but thoughtfully outfitted coffee shop run out of a garage on Carroll Street. It's the perfect spot to pause on a hot summer day for an iced Americano. The owner, Dom, is a great guy with interesting stories about growing up in Brooklyn.  

On the way into Red Hook, stop at the recently expanded/renovated Lobster Pound for lunch. I love the Tuscan Lobster Roll, which is made with basil vinaigrette instead of mayo.

While there's not much 'garden' to speak of, it's worth the walk for the spectacular views of lower Manhattan of the Statue of Liberty. 

The perfect spot for a late afternoon drink. They have an amzing selection of wines as well as some of the best mixed drinks in South Brooklyn. 

Prepare for class with an iced coffee from this little coffee shop. 

Sip your drink as you walk to the famous Hungarian Pastry shop. Pick up a hamantaschen to go for a mid class snack. 

If you have a few minutes to spare, stroll around the breathtaking Cathedral of St. John. If you're lucky you may see a peacock or two.
