Check out the newly renovated Cooper Hewitt for some modern design inspiration. When I went there was a Pixar process exhibit in the innovation lab.

Head north just a few blocks for some low-brow but high-quality beer and a satisfying grilled cheese.

Check out the brand new location of the Whitney museum. It's located right at the end of the highline and the heart of the west village.

Great food couldn't be any closer. If you can get a table that is. Be sure to try and stop at this swanky spot for coastal italian cuisine. By the brains behind Parm and Carbone it's sure to please your post-museo-intellectual munchies. 

Pick up an afternoon snack at this classic UES spot. I suggest the farro with arugala and peas or the smoked turkey pinwheel bites! Oh, and for dessert, try a vanilla cupcake (best in the city!) or sugar free scone sweetened with fruit juice. 

For all the tiny trensetters... This French boutique is always beautiful and always fun to browse. 

Hop a cab across the park to the AMNH. A hidden gem, the museum offers an exceptional children's program staffed by wonderful educators with a passion for science and museum education!
