Check out the newly renovated Cooper Hewitt for some modern design inspiration. When I went there was a Pixar process exhibit in the innovation lab.

Head north just a few blocks for some low-brow but high-quality beer and a satisfying grilled cheese.

Try a pulled Chicken torta, Huevos Rancheros, or a Cuban Sandwich at this sublimely authentic spot. 

Walk over to this incredible spanish market and pick up some fresh Iberico Ham, sausage, bread, olive oil and cheese for later.
