Grab a latte and a rediculously good cupcake from this Georgetown staple. If you're lucky you can sit outside and listen to some smooth guitar music. The lines can get kind of long so try and make it there early.

Head towards Georgtown University via O street. The colonial houses have been immaculately preserved and are both beautiful and inspiring. The Georgetown campus also can't be beat. Go Bulldogs!

Finish your afternoon by going for a stroll down Georgetown Waterfront park. If you've still got the energy- consider renting a kayak and taking in the city from the Potomac River.

Go check out the White House. They stopped doing tours so you won't be able to grab drinks with the Obamas, but you can still get an up close look at the gorgeous architecture.

A touristy but worthwhile stop, this impressive monument is a great way to begin a monument tour. 

A moving tribute that is a must see. 

Take a thoughtful stroll along the famous reflecting pool to the Lincoln Memorial. 

An evvocative memorial, climbing the steps to the top of the Lincoln Memorial is a must. 

Get unparalled tea service at the Park Hyatt. For a unique experience try the underwater garden tea, or my favorite, lavendar. Just remember, tea is only served from 2:30-4pm.
